I am the author of the Goodacity blog, a journalist, and a translator. For 16 years, I have worked in professional journalism, contributing to regional and national publications, both in print and online media. I have written reports, conducted interviews, reviews, articles on cultural, social, and charitable topics, as well as materials in the style of "solution journalism" and communication materials.
My focus is on creating interesting and exclusive content. Journalism, to me, is primarily about human stories, to which I always find the key, empathize with the people I write about, and love all my heroes. Journalism, to me, means telling people about what truly matters to them, informing and inspiring them. It is not just a job, but a way of life, just like for all those who dream, create, and are inspired by it.
So, if you are looking for stories that inspire and motivate, that instill faith and help find meaning while believing in goodness, read my stories on the Goodacity website.
I am a manager of cultural affairs and a project manager with over 14 years of experience at United Thinkers. I have participated in the organization of numerous successful social and charitable projects and have implemented informational campaigns and communication cases.
As a marketing manager, I have been involved in organizing marketing and sociological research, working with media and partners, developing advertising and marketing strategies, as well as planning and implementing advertising campaigns.
I believe in the power of goodness and I am happy that as part of the Goodacity project, I can contribute to its expansion. I believe in the power of words and in the fact that communication can help make the world a better place. I know how, where and when to speak in order to be heard. And when you are heard, you can change the world!
People with Boundless Spiritual Strength
Yevhen is 25. He has deep brown eyes and a piercing gaze… He writes poetry and performs on stage, speaks five foreign languages, and has multiple degrees. Despite the daily challenges he faces, he lives a vibrant, fulfilling life, inspiring others with his optimism and positivity!
“There are no people with disabilities – there are people with boundless spiritual strengths,” says Yevhen. “I’ve loved theater since childhood. I used to go to various plays often, but back then, I never imagined that one day I’d be on the stage myself…”.
Creativity Saves – It Helps Express the Inner World
“I learned about the Chernihiv Youth Integration Studio Theater ‘MIST’ when I met Katya, an actress from the theater, at the ‘London’ foreign language center. She invited me to come, watch, and try my hand at it,” says the young man. “I went to a rehearsal – and liked it so much that I’ve been ‘theatering’ for three years now,” laughs Yevhen. “I debuted in ‘Sorochinsky Fair,’ and then there were many new productions, performances, emotions, and impressions…
For me, theater is something very big, very significant… It means new friends, new skills and abilities, new horizons. Creativity saves – it helps overcome personal complexes and barriers, express the inner world, deal with stress, or change a depressed mood to a beautiful one… And for people with disabilities, creativity is the realm where they can express themselves, reveal and demonstrate their talent. Art is medicine for the soul!
I find both rehearsals and premieres interesting… This spirit, inspiration – it means a lot! Our rehearsals are full of humor, laughter, a very warm and friendly atmosphere… And I’m not nervous at the premiere – I give it my all, and I’m confident it shows!”.
“Theater has helped me a lot, and now I think about how I can help the theater,” says the young man. “The play ‘WAR,’ whose premiere will soon take place, is very special to me. – Such an edition, such an interpretation of the play has never been done before – it’s my original screenplay. The Mykolaiv Youth Theater inspired me to produce the play in my early childhood – I remember how impressed I was by their pantomime show ‘Viy.’ My screenplay is adapted to the current events in Ukraine – with faith in Victory! In the play, I play the role of Viy. Do you ask if I was afraid to take on such a role? Honestly, it was a bit scary… But, you know, sometimes you need to play some negative role, portray a villain on stage who is defeated in battle at the end of the play, to ‘kill’ all the anger and negativity that have accumulated over a lifetime…
Are there any particularly memorable moments? Every rehearsal has a lot of memorable things – funny incidents and our unique friendly atmosphere…
There are also quite humorous moments: when you have to transform into several roles in one play. I remember recently we went to visit our wounded warriors and perform a play for them. It turned out that two of our actors couldn’t make the trip, and in ‘Sorochinsky Fair’ I had to play two roles: my own, the main character Hryts, and a ‘bonus’ – the role of the priest’s son. Let me tell you, that was a real ‘challenge,’ ” he laughs… “I had to ‘express’ learn the text while we were driving, and quickly change costumes on stage during the play. I am glad that none of our audience noticed that the same person was playing two different roles – it means the transformation was successful!”
Three Degrees and Five Foreign Languages!
“Creativity saves, but it’s not all about creativity,” the young man laughs. “My hobby is… learning!
Yevhen doesn’t have just one or even two higher educations but… three! “I have a degree in social work,” says Yevhen. “I chose this field because I want to help people, especially those in need of psychological support. I also have a degree in management and entrepreneurship and an incomplete engineering degree in robotics. I’d really love to have the opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills in practice in each of these three specialties.
I’m interested in foreign languages – I’m currently learning Spanish and Italian, and I’m fluent in Polish, English, and German. From time to time, I make ecmnestic translations (those where speech stresses correspond to the accents and rhythm of the musical phrase) for foreign songs. I write poetry: both patriotic themes and lyrics – I’ve collected enough for a compilation…
With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion (and I spent all the terrible events of last spring in my hometown, we didn’t leave), to cheer myself up and support friends, I started writing. I simply don’t know how to write anything tragic, so what came out were sort of poetic ditties – because humor and the right word are also our weapons!
“The Golden Horde hasn’t died,
So let’s finish it off today!
From the San to the Amur:
Glory to Ukraine!!!”.
Where Love and Hope Reside!
“Yevhen – that’s what we all affectionately call him – joined the theater relatively recently, just a little over two years ago, but he quickly became an integral part of our team, bonding with all of us and becoming simply indispensable!” shares Irina Pisnya, the artistic director of the ‘MIST’ Theater. “He’s not just an actor but also will serve as a director and scriptwriter. The musical patriotic play ‘VIY_NA,’ based on the novella ‘Viy’ by Nikolai Gogol that our actors are currently working on, is all Yevhen’s idea, which he decided to bring to life, marking his directorial debut.
‘Viy’ will not be just any story, but creatively, authorially reimagined: on the side of good – our guys from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, among various evils – the aggressors… The play will be very interesting and exciting, so I invite everyone to the premiere by the ‘MIST’ Theater! We are waiting for everyone on July 29 at 3:00 PM at Sherstyanka, Dmytro Samokvasov Street 8, Chernihiv, Ukraine.
He’s very quiet, modest, but his talent is incredible! Such a deep person, such an incredible intellectual, such a talented poet… His energy, his soulfulness inspire all our actors. I admire Yevhen and his desire to help others – despite all the difficulties he himself has to overcome.
You know, I used to think that our youth integration theater ‘MIST’ was primarily about rehabilitating people with disabilities, but now I understand that our mission is primarily to change society’s attitude towards people with disabilities, to change people and the world – and to start these changes with ourselves! With each of our actors, we change ourselves too”.
“Where does our ‘MIST’ lead? What if to… our true selves?” says Yevhen. “For people with disabilities to find their place in the world is much harder than for others. But here, through art, we open up and can see and accept our true selves.
Also, in my opinion, our ‘MIST’ is a bridge between the world of ordinary people and people with disabilities, so there are no barriers between us. It leads to where love and hope reside…
I believe that our country will be the most conscious, progressive in terms of proper attitude towards people with disabilities. Indeed, even now many of our soldiers, having lost limbs, return to the front with bionic prostheses and fight as before… From my own experience, I can say that disability does not prevent one from getting multiple higher educations, learning foreign languages, performing in theater, and generally – living a full life!
At the end of our conversation, I ask Yevhen if female fans ever become tiresome. “How can one ever say ‘tiresome’ about girls, especially fans,” smiles the young man. “In a world with so many lonely people, being needed by someone inspires and delights, gives zest for life!”.
