I am the author of the Goodacity blog, a journalist, and a translator. For 16 years, I have worked in professional journalism, contributing to regional and national publications, both in print and online media. I have written reports, conducted interviews, reviews, articles on cultural, social, and charitable topics, as well as materials in the style of "solution journalism" and communication materials.

My focus is on creating interesting and exclusive content. Journalism, to me, is primarily about human stories, to which I always find the key, empathize with the people I write about, and love all my heroes. Journalism, to me, means telling people about what truly matters to them, informing and inspiring them. It is not just a job, but a way of life, just like for all those who dream, create, and are inspired by it.

So, if you are looking for stories that inspire and motivate, that instill faith and help find meaning while believing in goodness, read my stories on the Goodacity website.

Special assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

This is a story about how kindness knows no barriers. About how where someone sees only a person with a disability, there is actually a person with a big heart. And about a very special volunteer named Igor, who is doing everything he can to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

Anyone can be a volunteer

“This is an extremely touching and moving story – the story of Igor, who despite extremely challenging circumstances, does everything possible to help our military,” says volunteer Natalia Vlasenko. “His example is inspiring and moving – a young man with a disability weaves paracord bracelets for our military! ‘Although I may not have as much strength and ability, I think every day about how I can help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and simply cannot stand aside,’ Igor explained to me. Together with his parents, he endured the most difficult period of the city siege last spring and then decided not to give up under any circumstances and to act for our victory! His assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is his contribution to it!”

Igor’s enthusiasm for our defenders is so genuine that you would see how happy he was when our defenders came to visit him and gave him a flag signed by the military! And how he is delighted every time we manage to collect funds and buy paracord for bracelet weaving – he completely changes at work, becoming calm and focused! He’s like a child – happy to make his contribution to the Victory!

“We met Igor at the Youth Integration Theater ‘Most,'” says Ms. Natalia. “I am very happy with the acquaintance and friendship with these incredible and inspiring theater people! It’s so interesting how it turned out: we helped them before the war, and during the full-scale invasion, they are already helping us…

The theater is still volunteering – they are weaving and giving different master classes, participating in charity fairs.” Ihor is involved in this theater – and one day we started talking, he confessed to me that he is very concerned about our military and would like to help them in some way. We started thinking about how to make this happen and how we can help the Armed Forces of Ukraine… At first, he wrote letters to our defenders, I passed them on, and the guys wrote back to him, he was very happy. Then we came up with the idea of making bracelets from paracord: Ihor worked very hard – he searched for videos, tried different techniques, and learned… Now he can make 100 meters of paracord in four days! Sometimes I even have to cool down his enthusiasm – I tell him, Ihor, don’t rush, we don’t have that much paracord!

Volunteering - a bridge in life

“In the first place, our priority is to purchase materials so that we have enough to begin the production process,” says Natalia. “Paracord is expensive, and the demand for products made from it among the military is very high. Therefore, we are grateful for the help of everyone who assists us with materials!

Paracord bracelets for our defenders are not just decorative items, but multi-functional ones. They are rightfully called “survival bracelets”: on the front line, when we give them to the guys, they disappear like hot cakes,” Natalia chuckles. “A paracord bracelet allows you to always have up to 5 meters of high-quality super-strong cord at hand – it can come in handy, for example, during the construction of temporary shelters, to repair equipment, and even as a a tourniquet!

Igor weaves bracelets at home – it’s hard to count how many kilometers of paracord he’s processed, he’s already made almost 300 bracelets! Our soldiers know about Igor, they give him their patches – he already has a whole collection of them, and recently, they brought him a fleece jacket that one of our “cyborgs” wore in the Donetsk airport – it’s a unique souvenir! They want to make him happy, even visit him during their short leaves, because they understand that for him, helping the Armed Forces, his volunteering – is his whole life!…

“Armed Forces, my little soldiers, I’ll pass the bracelets on to you, just please take care of yourselves! I want you to win as soon as possible!” – these lines from Igor cannot leave anyone indifferent! And you know, with such people, we cannot be defeated by anyone!
